Physical therapy.
At Mend & Send, my first priority is to create strong relationships with my patients. During our 1-on-1 hour-long sessions, we will collaborate to make an efficient and effective plan to help you feel strong and pain-free.
After a 30-minute phone consultation, our first visit will be dedicated to finding answers. We will dive into not only what the problem is, but why it happened. This visit will include a strength and range-of-motion assessment, diagnostic testing, and movement analysis on and off the climbing wall. Based on what we find, we will create a plan for the path forward. My aim is that you leave the initial visit feeling understood, confident, and excited for the road ahead together.
During follow-up visits, we will progress exercises, perform climbing movement drills, fine-tune our plan, and I may include manual therapy such as joint mobilizations, myofascial release, and dry needling. I tend to be exercise and movement-focused, but will utilize manual therapy if it is indicated.
Prevention & performance.
My goal is that you never see me for the same injury twice. Once we are on the path to pain-free climbing and training, we will adjust the plan to be efficient and effective at making you feel stronger than ever before. This will include a strengthening and conditioning plan off the wall, as well as on-the-wall considerations and programming.
If you are uninjured and are still interested in prevention, you may be interested in the Send Screen. The Send Screen is a 1.5-hour long injury-prevention screen designed to ensure you are on the right track to climb your hardest and keep pain at a minimum. Put on your Send Screen and keep the aches away!
Once you are painfree and en route to climbing your hardest, I also have connections with some of the best coaches in the country, and would be more than happy to connect you.
events & Workshops.
Prevention is a key part of successful rehab and pain-free climbing. In the past, I have partnered with large-scale routesetting and coaching teams, solo coaches, and gym communities to provide regular injury prevention workshops, each tailored to the specific needs of the parties involved.
For routesetters, workshop topics have ranged from ergonomic considerations while hold-washing and setting, to preparation for forerunning, as well as prevention of overuse injuries that keep setters from working at tip top shape.
For coaches and gym members, workshop topics have included effective warm-up strategies, movement habits to look for, important off-the-wall programming considerations, and more.
You can also catch me at gyms around the Twin Cities providing pop-up injury assessments, movement screens, and fun competitive challenges.
